Welcome to the jungle, we’ve got fun and games! Usually I hear this while Axl Rose singing with 90’s rocker style and move. But now I’m not only hear but also I come to the real jungle. The jungle is located at Mount Leuseur National Park, Langkat Region, North Sumatera, Indonesia.
This National Park is about 3 hours from Medan as Capital City of North Sumatera Province by car. We can also travel here by public transport from Medan. When we arrive at Bukit Lawang, we will see Bahorok River that have clean water and calm current.
At the riverside, there are many café and lodge. This place is really suitable for relaxing and escape from routinity.
Near the river, there is Mount Leuseur Jungle. We can go there by tracking. It takes about 1 until 3 hours by walking. In the jungle we can see typical animal from Sumatera like Orang Utan Sumatera and Thomas Leaf Monkey. If we lucky we can see Elephants, Rhinos, Great Argus, Hornbills and many other unique animals. Actually, There were several tracking package in Mount Leuseur National Park but I took only half day tracking. Maybe if I took longer tracking package, I could see many other animals. Although I only take half day tracking package, but I see awesome jungle atmosphere there.
Another pleasure things to visit here is live music in the evening. There is live music show at Thomas Cafe. The Cafe is at riverside so it become unique sensation when see live music in nature. Live music is held from 10 pm until 2 pm. We can dance and sing together with visitor along the night.
